About this Course


The aim of this course is to explore the characteristics of good communication and how to design conversations that can lead to action. During this 5 week course we:

  • Learn how to design and facilitate conversations that empower co-learning, empathy and future thinking.
  • Learn how to design and create the space for constructive engagement.
  • Develop the practical skills to design and implement conversations in tourism

Hosting Conversations in Tourism is a 5-week course that develops skills in community engagement and deep conversations.

The course is divided into 5 modules and includes:

  • 5 x online learning modules
  • 5 x Learning Circles (1.5 hr zoom webinars and course notes).
  • Access to The Tourism Colab's membership community (3 months).
  • Certificate of completion.

Participants learn how to design, engage in and facilitate quality conversations and to enhance their listening and communication practices.

Q. When does the course start and finish?

The course website will open one week prior to the start date. At this time, Module 1 will be made available. Each module will be made available generally one week ahead of time. (Delays from time to time may result due to public holidays or other events).

Q. How is the course run?

The course will be run using Zoom, course materials are made available on Teachable.

Learning circle webinars will be recorded and made available for viewing. On the CoLab weeks, group work and coaching work and will not be recorded.

Q. What happens if I can't attend the live webinars?

The course may be completed asynchronously. That is, you can view the learning materials and the webinar recording in your own time, and go through the CoLab worksheets and exercises on your own. Q&A sessions WILL NOT be recorded.

Q. How long do I have access to the course?

After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for three (3) months, across any and all devices or until further notice.
